The Beginning is a solo performance that later evolved into the duet 'Wasteland'.
Set in a vast, symbolic landscape, the piece explores the tension between a solitary body and the immense forces surrounding it. The stage is both nature and a theatrical space—an environment that demands total engagement.
A delicate figure navigates this shifting terrain, constructing and dismantling, managing light and objects, creating rituals, and establishing symbols that shape a new cultural narrative. Each action—whether an act of creation, destruction, or declaration—becomes a manifesto, a statement of existence against uncertainty.
Through monologue, choreographed sequences with a massive flag, and ceremonies of commitment, loyalty, and mobilization, the work examines shifting power structures. Intense and potent, yet at times fragmented and absurd, The Beginning challenges traditional notions of power and revolution, replacing endurance with flexibility, evasion, and playful heroism.
